Dr. Holly Blanchette

Originally from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, Dr. Holly Blanchette is the newly-appointed Executive Director of the Coeur d'Alene Symphony Orchestra.


Dr. Blanchette graduated from Coeur d'Alene High School in 2006, earned a bachelor of music in oboe performance from the University of Idaho in 2010, obtained her master of music from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2013 and a doctorate of musical arts with a minor in musicology from the University of Georgia in 2017.

Dr. Blanchette has performed with the Georgia Symphony, Symphony Orchestra Augusta, ARCO Chamber Orchestra, Royal Fireworks Orchestra, the Fayetteville Symphony, the Winston-Salem Symphony, NOVUS Chamber Orchestra, Present-Continuous New Music Ensemble, the Washington-Idaho Symphony, and the Coeur d’Alene Symphony, among many others.

Dr. Blanchette maintains a private teaching studio and small reed making business in the lovely town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, substitutes frequently with many local symphony orchestras throughout Idaho and Washington, and is currently the Instructor of Oboe at North Idaho College and Temporary Instructor of Oboe at the University of Montana.
