Kimberly Monzón
Kimberly Monzón has most recently performed Zerbina
in La Serva Padrona, and Annina in La Traviata with Spokane
Opera, as well as concerts with Opera Plus! in Coeur d’Alene.
She was a Pensacola Opera Resident Artist last season, where
she made her mainstage debut as Frasquita in Carmen as well
as covering the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor. She was
an Apprentice Artist with Des Moines Metro Opera in 2005 performing
roles in scenes, such as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Norina
in Don Pasquale, Rose in Street Scene, and Blanche de la Force
in Dialogues des Carmélites. Ms. Monzón recently
had the rare opportunity of working directly with composer
Robert Nelson and librettist/director Buck Ross as Lucy in
their new opera A Room With a View, as based on the novel
by E. M. Forster, at the Moores Opera Center in Houston, Texas.
Past roles include Tytania in A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ännchen
in Der Freischutz, Johanna in Sweeney Todd, Fräulein
Silberklang in Der Schauspieldirektor, and Erste Frau in Die
Zauberflöte. Kimberly recently received a Master’s
degree in Vocal Performance from the Moores School of Music
at the University of Houston. She holds her Bachelor’s
degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas
City Conservatory of Music.
